HENDERSON — Loyd Calvin Davis Sr., 72, of Country Acres Road, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at Maria Parham Health.
Born in Greene County on April 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Donald Conway Davis, Sr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Barfield Davis Williams.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Revlon. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and enjoyed tinkering with old fast cars.
A memorial service with military honors will be held Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church by Dr. Randy Mann.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Geneva Johnson Davis of the home; a daughter, Beth Ashley (Mike) of Henderson, a son, Loyd Calvin Davis Jr. (Ellie) of Henderson; a stepdaughter, Annette Duncan (William) of Henderson; two sisters, Kaye Williamson of Henderson and Carolyn Critcher (Robert) of Henderson; two brothers, Johnny Williams (Loretta) of Henderson and Elvin “Bud” Williams Jr. (Joanne) of Henderson; four granddaughters, Jasmine, Lillian, Whitney (Joshua) and Hailey; four grandsons, Trey, Dannon, Dustin and John; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Elvin Williard Williams Sr.; a brother, Butch Davis; and a sister, Judy Twisdale.
The family requests that anyone attending the service on Friday wear a mask and practice social distancing.
