HENDERSON — John “Stick” Foster Jr., 74, of Henderson passed away on Nov. 26, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Vance County to the late John Foster Sr. and Gretchen Davis Foster.

At an early age he joined New Bethel Baptist Church; he later joined Freedom Life Church. John graduated in the class of 1967 from Henderson Institute in Henderson, North Carolina.

He worked for Foster Masonry, the family business, for many years. He was the founder of J.B Foster Enterprises and also worked at Brewer Yamaha, Henderson Honda Cycle and Perdue Chicken Co.

A service will be held at noon, Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at Freedom Life Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens, Viewing will be from noon to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home, and 30 minutes prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Janice B. Foster; his children, John Foster III, Ryan Jones (Tiffany), Tonya Smith (Antonio),Tonya Green and Terry Hart (Rudolph Jr.); his siblings, Carolyn Daniels (Joseph) and James Otis Wilson (Janice); 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives.
