KITTRELL — Jerry McCoy Patterson, 73, of Kittrell, North Carolina, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at Maria Parham Health.
Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Douglas Edward Patterson and Mary Belle Patterson.
Jerry was the owner and operator of C&P Body Shop for 49 years. He was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was an avid fisherman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at 2 p.m. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Mark Richardson and the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Pamela Manning Patterson; two sons, Jason Patterson (Jeniffer) and Art Patterson (Mandy); nine grandchildren, Anna, Alana, Avery, Levi, Austin, Lucas, Ada, Haley and Gracie; two sisters, Carolyn Berger and Nora Short; and one brother, Brooks Patterson.
Jerry was the baby of 13 children. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Shirley Hanford, Peggy Lassiter, Sarah Patterson and Nellie Aycock; and five brothers, Linwood Patterson, Wayne Patterson, Perry Patterson, Billy Patterson and Glen Patterson.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. All other times, they will be at his home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Patterson, Steven Aycock, Michael Solomon, Greg Patterson, Paul Manning and Michael Short. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Jones, Danny Fleming, Skeet Ayscue and Charles Floyd.
Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, those planning to attend the service are asked to adhere to all CDC guidelines by wearing a face covering of some sort, and to practice social distancing.
