HENDERSON — James “Haywood” Harris, 58, of Henderson, passed away on April 8, 2021, in Oxford. He was the son of the late James Tucker Harris and late Ruby Abbott Harris.
He was preceded in death by his uncles, Ollie Harris Sr., Joe Shaw and George Abbott Jr.; aunts, Hazel Shaw and Mildred Berryman; and first cousin, Stacey Arrington.
He is survived by aunts and uncles, Mary Francis Harris and Paulette Arrington (Marion) of Henderson; Shirley Pendergrass of Kittrell; Mildred Abbott of Norlina; Billy Newcomb Pendergrass (Adela) of Lindale, Texas; and Richard Berryman (Dottie) of Boone.
He is also survived by his first cousins, Thomas Shaw (Jennifer), Ollie Harris Jr. (Patsy) , Michelle Parks (Bob), Sandra Carey (Brian) and Phil Arrington (Diane) of Henderson; Wayne Pendergrass (Margie) of Kittrell, Deborah Rowland (Robert) of Cullowhee; William Abbott (Alice) and Scarlett Paschal (Norman) of Norlina; Mark Pendergrass (Debi) and Shannon Janes (Steve) of Sugar Land, Texas; Julie Lyon (Gaston) of Lindale, Texas; Craig Cameron (Joe) of Washington, D.C., Monica Berryman of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Tamara Berryman of Avondale Estates, Georgia.
