NORLINA — Frances Thompson Choplin, 92, of Norlina, North Carolina, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at the home of her son.
Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Thompson and Mary Ayscue Thompson.

NORLINA — Frances Thompson Choplin, 92, of Norlina, North Carolina, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at the home of her son.
Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Thompson and Mary Ayscue Thompson.
She was the widow of Hunter Duke Choplin Sr.
Mrs. Choplin was a long-time member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and was a member of the Koinonia Bible Study Group.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Revs. Stephen Lee and Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving is one son, Hunter Choplin (Kim); two grandchildren, Luke Choplin and Amanda Davis; three great-grandchildren, Angela Pegram, Davis Pegram and Pressley Davis; and a special caregiver, Kathy Creech, along with many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lois Harris, Mary Mosley and Ruth Ayscue; and three brothers, Roy Thompson, Ed Thompson and Jack Thompson.
The family will receive friends Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home in Henderson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Pegram, Joey Ferguson, Kevin Kinton, Hunter Powell, Donnie Allgood and Tony Davis.
