EMERALD ISLE — Cheryl Lee Vaughn Watkins, 70, a resident of Emerald Isle and a former resident of Oak Ridge Avenue in Henderson, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, at Universal Health Care in Oxford.
Born in Marion, Kentucky, on July 24, 1950, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Vaughn and Rosa Davidson Vaughn of Marion, Kentucky, and was the widow of Durwood Thomas Watkins. Cheryl was retired from First Citizens Bank in Henderson, where she was a teller supervisor.
She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Durwood Thomas Watkins, in the Fuller Chapel Christian Church Cemetery at a later date.
She is survived by her sister and brother, Alissa Terrasa of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Thomas Vaughn of Raleigh; her half-sister and half-brother, Candra Downs of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Jay Dee Vaughn of Dawson Springs, Kentucky; her mother and father-in-law, Durwood Thomas and Clarice Coghill Watkins of Henderson; her sister-in-law, Sharon Clark of Henderson; her two nieces, Chastity Clark of Orlando, Florida, and Tara Terrasa of Topeka, Kansas; and seven nephews, Jason Vaughn of Goshen, Kentrucky, John Michael Vaughn of Clifton, Virginia, Michael Terrasa III of Oceanside, California, Joshua Terrasa of Clute, Texas, and Bowman Vaughn Downs, Franklin Mansfield Downs and Mason Ramage Downs, all of Simpsonville, South Carolina.
