HENDERSON — Alvin Clark Lassiter, 87, of Henderson, died Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Maria Parham Health.
Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Walter Thomas Lassiter Sr. and Myrtle Glendora Clark Lassiter. He was the widower of Peggy Patterson Lassiter.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 2, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Surviving are three daughters, Peggy Winters Jones, Beverly Talley Pugh and Frances Vaughan Greenway; one son, Alan Bernard Lassiter (Cheryl); eight grandchildren, Candice Winters, Crystal Faulkner, Allison McHenry, Amber Cottrell, Loni Greenway, Robert Talley III, A.J. Lassiter and Adam Lassiter; and seven great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rose L. Woodard, and one brother, W.T. Lassiter Jr.
Serving as pallbearers will be Perry Faulkner, Robert Talley III, Matthew Cash, Jason Patterson, Art Patterson, Johnny Patterson, Bradley Patterson and Stephen Aycock.
The family will receive friends at the home of Candice Winters.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, those planning to attend the service are asked to adhere to all CDC guidelines by wearing a face covering of some sort, and to practice social distancing.
