Waterlogged

The remnants of Tropical Storm Eta gave much of North Carolina a good soaking on Thursday, Henderson and the Tri-County region included. Driving along Garnett Street was a bit splashy, and the National Weather Service put Vance, Granville, Warren and Franklin counties under a flash-flood warning as between 2 and 3 inches of rain had fallen since daybreak. But in Vance County at least, Emergency Operations Director Brian Short said that “nothing major” in the way of flooding had been reported to 911 dispatchers as of lunchtime.
