HENDERSON — Two people from Henderson face drug charges after Vance County Sheriff’s Office deputies raided a home south of the city earlier this month.

Deputies arrested Tevin Lee Daye, 28, and Janeika Shadia Speed, 24, at the scene. Each faces charges of possessing heroin, cocaine and marijuana with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver, Sheriff Curtis Brame said.

The raid’s search warrant targeted 385 Julian Smith Road, Lot 3, Henderson, in rural Vance County between Henderson, Kittrell and Epsom.

Brame announced the arrests on Wednesday, but his office’s drug and fugitive-apprehension teams executed the warrant on Feb. 10.

The sheriff said the investigation continues. A magistrate set bond for Daye at $90,000 and for Speed at $75,000.

The N.C. Department of Public Safety’s online database indicates that Daye has a criminal record that includes prior convictions for manslaughter, burglary, driving while impaired, assaulting a law-enforcement officer, drug possession and trafficking, and assault on a female.
