Sunday shooting

A shooting at this house on Rowland Street in Henderson on Sunday night left 44-year-old William Glen Nicholson Jr. dead.

HENDERSON — A Sunday night shooting in a home on Rowland Street near the former Henderson Middle School left a man dead.

Henderson police said William Glen Nicholson Jr., 44, of 111 Walker Lane, Warrenton, was dead of a gunshot wound by the time they got to 406 Rowland Street.

The house is the home of Nicholson’s wife and “several other relatives,” and the matter is “being deemed a domestic-related incident,” Police Chief Marcus Barrow said, adding that the case “remains open for further investigation and evidence review.”

Authorities said two other people were injured, but did not specify the nature of those injuries. A third person was being questioned as of Sunday night.

Dispatchers sent police to the scene at 8:20 p.m. to investigate a shooting.

Sunday’s shooting death was the second in less than a week in Henderson.

The previous one, on Wednesday night, claimed the life of Alveante “Al” Markeith Holden, 18, in what police have called “a narcotics transaction gone awry.”

Holden was founded dead seated in a vehicle parked outside a laundry on East Andrews Avenue.
