HENDERSON — Dave Harold Currin, 61, a resident of Strawberry Lane, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Born on Nov. 13, 1959, in Vance County, he was the son of the late Harold Osborne Currin and Josephine Brummitt Currin.
After rededicating his life to Christ in recent months, his goal was to be a witness to as many people as possible. He was a member of West End Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Christian Fellowship Class. During his younger years Dave coached church-league sports. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
His courage and strength throughout his life will never be forgotten. We will always remember Dave’s funny sense of humor, spunky personality and the unconditional love he showed his family. Dave and his father formerly owned and operated Currin’s Greenhouses for 20 years, and for the past 25 years he has been employed at Ardagh Glass Containers.
A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, March 7, 2021, at 3 p.m. in the Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery (6535 Raleigh Road, Kittrell NC 27544) by the Rev. Mike Currin and the Rev. Craig Currin.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Harris Currin of the home; two daughters, Elizabeth Whitby (Aaron) of Henderson and Rebecca Currin of the home; one granddaughter, Daven Lee Whitby; one sister, Rita C. Wilson (Clyde) of Kittrell; one brother, the Rev. Mike Currin of Littleton; and his beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church Baptist Men, 619 Dabney Drive, Henderson, NC 27536.
Those who wish to view Dave may do so on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at J.M. White Funeral Home.
Attendees at the service and visitation are asked to wear appropriate face coverings and practice social distancing.
Arrangements are by J.M. White Funeral Home.
