FOOD DRIVE, The city of Oxford’s Third Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive kicked off on Oct. 4. This year the city is proud to be partnering with The Help Center NC to help fight hunger in our community. From now until Nov. 17, you can drop off donated non-perishable food items to any City of Oxford department location, including Public Works, Parks & Recreation, the Fire Department, the Police Department and Oxford City Hall. BRUNSWICK STEW FUNDRAISER, The Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department will hold its Brunswick Stew fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 8 a.m. to noon at the firehouse, 1697 Palmer Springs Road (the intersection of Palmer Springs Road, Rough Road and Mineral Springs Road) in Palmer Springs, Virginia. GRANVILLE SCHOOL BOARD, The Granville County school board will meet for a work session on Monday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m. at the Mary Potter Center of Education, 200 Taylor St., Oxford. Topics discussed will include a GCPS retention bonus plan, redrawing voter districts, mask/face covering update and a staff update on the high school consolidation draft timeline. Members of the public are invited to view the livestream at https://live.myvrspot.com/st?cid=MDhkZj. Members of the public wishing to attend the meeting must cooperate with social distancing requirements and will be required to wear face coverings. Anyone without a face covering will not be permitted to enter the building. Anyone who chooses not to comply with the above will be asked to leave the property. There will be limited seating available.

GRANVILLE COMMISSIONERS, The Granville County Commissioners will meet at the Granville Expo & Convention Center, 4185 U.S. 15, Oxford, on Monday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. for the regular scheduled meeting.

WARREN HEALTH, The Warren County Board of Health will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. in the lobby of Warren County Health Department. If the public wishes to make comment, email it to tanishalyons@warrencountync.gov by 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16.
