TREE PLANTING, Join Tar River Land Conservancy staff and volunteers to plant hardwood seedlings on conservation land located in southern Granville County. Seedlings will be planted near streams to protect drinking water supplied by Lake Holt and Falls Lake. No previous tree planting experience is necessary. TRLC will provide planting tools and instruction on proper tree planting techniques. Holes will be pre-dug. Wear weather-appropriate work clothes, work gloves and a hat. Bring plenty of water and a snack or lunch. Bring a camera to take scenic pics along Dickens Creek. Volunteers will park in a grass field at the meeting location. Tar River Land Conservancy staff will shuttle volunteers to the tree planting areas. Participants will be asked to follow safety protocols to limit exposure to the COVID-19 coronavirus.
