LITTLETON CHRISTMAS PARADE, Downtown Littleton will be the place to be on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. for the Littleton Christmas Parade. Come out and line the parade route along Mosby Avenue and U.S. 158/N.C. 903 from the light to the Piggly Wiggly. Interested in participating in the Parade? HENDERSON CHRISTMAS PARADE, The Henderson Christmas Parade will occur on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 4 p.m. on Garnett Street in downtown Henderson. The parade route runs from Dabney Drive Extension to Rose Avenue.

GRANVILLE COMMISSIONERS, The Granville County Commissioners will meet at the Granville Expo & Convention Center, 4185 U.S. 15, Oxford, NC on Monday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. for their regularly scheduled monthly meeting.

GRANVILLE SCHOOl BOARD, The Granville County school board will meet for a regular board meeting on Monday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. at the Mary Potter Center of Education, 200 Taylor St., Oxford, NC 27565. The board will also meet in closed session to discuss matters of personnel and attorney/client privilege.

SCHOOL BOARD COMMITTEES, The Vance County school board’s Personnel Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7, in the Administrative Services Center in the Superintendent’s Conference Room, 1724 Graham Ave., Henderson. KIDS GYM, Join Henderson-Vance Recreation and Parks for Kids Gym, participants ages 14 and under will be taking over the Aycock Recreation Center Gym. There will be plenty of kid friendly equipment to play and enough room to safely social distance. This event will be open to the first 15 participants to register. Each participant must have an adult over the age of 18 with them at all times, Participants can not be dropped off. Only the participant and one guardian will be allowed in the event. CHRISTMAS CHILI, Christmas Chili Cook-off and Skit, Thursday, Dec. 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Shepherd Youth Ranch, 3017 Brassfield Road, Creedmoor. Bring your favorite chili and fixings to share with everyone. Everyone will vote for their favorite chili and the winner will get a prize. We will also be having our first ever Christmas Skit! Join us as our Trailblazers will be telling about the First Christmas.

LIGHT & SHADOWS, On Thursday, Dec. 9, the preschool “Light & Shadows” workshop will occur from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Perry Memorial Library, 205 Breckinridge St., Henderson. This program is designed for preschoolers and their caregivers. The preschoolers will be engaged in exploring light and shadows by listening to a story about shadows, hunting for shadows in our environment and creating shadows using different objects. Funding for this program is provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services through The Franklin Institute & the Leap into Science Light & Shadow curriculum. PROTEST ANNIVERSARY, The Warren County Environmental Action Team invites you to a Red-Carpet Kickoff on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m., for the 40th Anniversary Commemoration: Birth of the Environmental Justice Movement. We will show the documentary: “Warren County Birth of a Movement.” Warren County Courthouse, 109 S. Main St., Warrenton, second floor. Please bring items you have saved from the protests such as buttons, bumper stickers, photos, posters, newspapers. Plus, please help us identify people in the photos and videos that we have. If you were at the protest, we would like to record your story. Where were you during the six weeks of protests in 1982? What do you remember? Bring your friends. Bring your family. Refreshments will be served. Masks required. Social distancing will be practiced. Please stay safe and sanitized.
