OXFORD — “Honor Your Hero. Be A Hero” is the theme for the first blood drive sponsored by the Ernest F. Hart American Legion Post 90 in Oxford and the American Red Cross.
The drive is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 23, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. the Post building, 914 Williamsboro St. in Oxford.
Post 90 and all American Legion posts are committed to strengthening and serving our community to help meet the needs not only of veterans but of all our fellow citizens. This drive is one way we all can help, especially at times like these when there is a critical shortage of life-saving blood.
Someone in the U.S. is in need of blood every two seconds, so blood products must be constantly replenished. According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative, but every donation is important.
The short amount of time it takes to donate can mean a lifetime to a patient with a serious medical condition. Please join us in the selfless act of giving blood.
For more information or to make an appointment to donate, call Larry Breisacher at 919-339-8352, or if you’ve donated in the past, sign up online at redcrossblood.org.
Be a hero. Donate.
