Vance schools getting out early Friday

Vance County Schools will dismiss students early on Friday in anticipation of winter weather, according to public information office Terri Hedrick.

Elementary and high schools dismiss at 11:30 a.m. and middle schools at 11:45 a.m.

The system has not made a decision on extra-curricular activities, including Western Vance High graduation and school athletics events.

Vance Charter School has also announced only a half-day for students on Friday.

Vance, Granville and Warren counties are each under a winter weather advisory from noon Friday until midnight Saturday.
