Award nominations being accepted
Nominations are being accepted through Sept. 27 for the Hefner Award, selected each year by the N.C. Council on Developmental Disabilities.
The awards honors an individual demonstrating dedication, service and advocacy on behalf of improving quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Jack Hefner, the namesake of the award, served the council for 22 years until his death in 1994. The award will be presented at the annual meeting in Cary this November.
