Sarah Jessica Deal weds Adam Thomas Pinnell
Sarah Jessica Deal and Adam Thomas Pinnell were united in marriage at 4 p.m. on Sept. 28, 2013, at Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Palmer Springs, Va. Rev. John Conner officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Deal of McLeansville. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Soles and the late Roscoe Soles of Whiteville and Ann Deal and the late Ogden Deal of McLeansville. Jessica is a graduate of Eastern Guilford High School and Randolph Community College, with a degree in commercial photography, and is currently an internationally published portrait photographer.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Pinnell of Palmer Springs, Va. He is the grandson of Betsy Pinnell and the late Norman Pinnell of Palmer Springs, and Constance Lue and the late Rex Lue of Oxford. Adam is a graduate of Warren County High School and Randolph Community College, with a degree in commercial photography, and is currently working worldwide in the field of commercial photography.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a sheath Allure gown of champagne satin and ivory lace. The gown featured flower embroidery, pearls, and crystals all over, with a sweep train that was complemented by a handmade ivory fingertip veil. Wearing her great grandmother’s pearls, the bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of cream hydrangeas, hypericum berries, eucalyptus and cascading ivy.
The maid of honor was Ali Howard of Atlanta, Ga.
Johnny Williams of Greensboro served as best man.
The flower girls were Hannah Deal, sister of the bride, and Kloey Hunt, niece of the groom. Master Joshua Deal, brother of the bride, was ring bearer. Eric Pinnell and Scott Hunt, brothers of the groom, served as ushers. Kaylah Hunt, niece of the groom, rang the church bells and Amy Lue, aunt of the groom, directed the wedding. Music was provided by pianist Sally Tharrington and soloist Amber Williamson. Alexandra Deal and Clifton Deal, cousins of the bride, and Lina Lue and Harris Lue, cousins of the groom, also participated in the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, a reception was given by Mrs. Jewel Wynns, aunt of the bride, in the church fellowship hall.
After a honeymoon trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the couple now resides in Weaverville.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a barbecue rehearsal dinner at Satterwhite Point Marina on Kerr Lake.
Prior to the wedding, a January engagement party was given in Raleigh by Jewel Wynns, aunt of the bride.
A June bridal shower was given in Greensboro by Ali Howard, Betty Howard and Betty Everhart.
A September bridal shower was given in Manson by Fawn Hunt, sister-in-law of the groom.
Also in September, a dinner party was hosted in Oxford by Amy and Rick Lue, aunt and uncle of the groom.
