One goes to hospital following Sunday wreck on I-85
One person was taken by helicopter to a Durham hospital Sunday following a rollover crash on Interstate 85 near the West Andrews Avenue crossing.
The single-vehicle wreck involved a 2004 Ford Explorer. Janie McRae, a 59-year-old from Virginia Beach, Va., was transported by Life Flight to Duke University Medical Center.
According to Henderson police, the vehicle went off the roadway, came back on, then flipped several times.
Lt. Christopher Ball said southbound lanes of I-85 were shut down about 30 minutes for Life Flight to land. Northbound lanes of I-85 were halted for about two hours.
An update on the condition of the driver is not yet available.
