Monday
Zumba — Instructor Claire Phillips will conduct Zumba classes every Monday and Wednesday night, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. (each night), at the Norlina Fire Dept., 102 Center St., Norlina. Contact Phillips at (252) 567-3490 for more information.
Garbage collection — Garbage, brush and recycle collections for the City of Henderson will take follow the normal schedule.
Tuesday
Garbage collection — Garbage, brush and recycle collections for the City of Henderson that would normally take place on Tuesday will be moved to Wednesday (Jan. 2).
Closing — Henderson City Hall will be closed today.
Thursday
Garbage collection — Brush and recycle collections for the City of Henderson will take place today. However, garbage will be picked up Friday (Jan. 4).
Writers group — The Second Cup Writers Group meets every first and third Wednesday morning, at 9:30 p.m., at Full Circle Coffee Shop in Youngsville for critique and discussion of writing.
Friday
Garbage collection — Brush and recycle collections for the City of Henderson will take place today. However, garbage will be picked up Saturday (Jan. 5).
Jan. 7
Chamber — The recognition committee of the Granville County Chamber of Commerce will convene for a meeting in the chamber boardroom at noon.
Jan. 8
Fire department — The Cokesbury Volunteer Fire Dept. will conduct its annual meeting today, at 7:30 p.m. Fire department business will be discussed. All guests are invited to attend.
Chamber — The board of directors of the Granville County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a meeting at Vance-Granville Community College’s south campus at 8 a.m.
Jan. 10
Writers group — The Franklin County Arts Council Night Writers Group meets every second and fourth Thursday night, at 7 p.m., at Full Circle Coffee Shop in Youngsville for critique and discussion of writing.
Granville Health System — There will be a meeting of the quality council at 6 p.m. in the board room.
Jan. 11
Granville Health System — The recognition committee will convene for a meeting in the chamber boardroom at noon.
Sunrise Forum — The Granville County Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a Sunrise Forum, to take place today at 8 a.m. The meeting place will be announced at a later date.
