Spartans sweep Ridgecroft

With conference play on the horizon, Kerr-Vance Academy rolled to a 3-0 (25-4, 25-19, 25-10) win Thursday over Ridgecroft.

The Spartans improved to 3-1 and start Carolina Independent Conference play Tuesday against Faith Christian.

“It was an opportunity for everyone to get quality minutes in the match with each member of the squad scoring,” KVA coach William Hoyle wrote in an email to The Dispatch.

Contributing for the Spartans: Cameron Rogers (four aces, two digs, two kills), Kassidy Dickerson (six aces, 15 service points), Hannah Faulkner (six kills), Caroline Hoyle (eight digs, seven assists), Sophia Naradzay (block, 6 of 6 passing), McKenzie Jones (15 serves, 7 of 7 passing), Rachel Ross (six digs, six assists, two kills).

KVA’s junior varsity team won 25-15, 25-23 and improved to 2-1.

Ashley Dickerson scored the first eight points of the match from the service line followed by five more from Emily Carr.

Alexis Reese led a KVA comeback at the service line in Set 2.
