The Kerr-Vance Academy varsity tennis team defeated Ridgecroft 9-0 Thursday, improving to 3-1.

KVA hosts Faith Christian Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Rafael Negron scored twice and Kerr-Vance (2-0-1) defeated Ridgecroft 3-0 Thursday.

Negron scored on a first-half penalty kick before finishing off a breakaway chance in the second.

Alex Hester rounded out the Spartans’ scoring.

JUNIOR VARSITY FOOTBALL

NORTHERN VANCE 14, WARREN COUNTY 8 (OT)

Playing its first junior varsity football game in four seasons, Northern Vance knocked off Warren County 14-8 Thursday in overtime.

Northern quarterback Elijah Stewart ran in for the winner after throwing a 30-yard touchdown to Keon Fogg earlier in the game. Stewart rushed for the 2-point conversion.
