The record is hers.

Shauna Terry owns the career blocks record for Western Carolina women’s basketball after reaching the magic number in a loss to Georgia Southern on Saturday.

Terry, a 2010 Southern Vance graduate, added another block on Monday in a 69-65 defeat to Davidson to bring her total to 132.

Terry had seven points and seven rebounds against the Wildcats and posted 14 points, nine boards and two blocks in the 63-56 loss to Georgia Southern.

Terry, who was also a volleyball and track and field standout at Southern, is fourth on the team in scoring and leads the Catamounts in rebounds.

Western dropped to 9-11 overall on Monday with a 3-6 mark in the Chattanooga-led Southern Conference. The Mocs are unbeaten in league play and have a two-game lead on Davidson.

The Catamounts have nine regular season games remaining before the SoCon tournament begins March 7 in Asheville.
