Vikings open soccer season with draw

Northern Vance opened its soccer season in heartbreaking fashion, conceding a late equalizer to Nash Central.

Nash Central scored in the game’s final seconds to knot the match at 2.

The Vikings came from behind to take a 2-1 second-half lead on goals from Gabby Matthews and Ashlyn Reams, assisted by Katlyn Reams and Logan Brinker.

“It’s a mistake we’ll have to learn from,” said Northern coach Razvan Tegean, “but the girls played well.”

The Vikings visit Southern Nash Friday.
