Three Kerr-Vance teams will compete in postseason action Friday.

KVA’s cross country team will run in the N.C. Independent School Athletic Association Class 1-A meet at Hagan-Stone Park in Pleasant Garden, just outside of Greensboro.

Kayla Holder has had a stellar sophomore campaign for the Spartans, winning five of seven races in the mixed-classification Eastern Plains Independent Conference. She’ll look to improve on her 11th-place finish in the 2-A meet last season.

KVA’s volleyball and tennis teams are each in the 1-A quarterfinals.

The 10th-seeded Spartans’ volleyball team (12-10) meets No. 2 Oakwood School (16-8) of Greenville at Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh at 11 a.m.

The winner meets either No. 3 Shannon Forest Christian School of Greenville, S.C. or No. 6 Pope John Paul II (19-6) of Greenville Friday at 7 p.m. at Word of God.

KVA’s tennis team faces Wayne Country Day Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Barton College in Wilson.

The winner of No. 3 KVA (14-7) against No. 2 Wayne Country Day (17-2) will meet either No. 1 Statesville Christian (14-3) or No. 4 The Burlington School (8-7) in the semifinals Saturday morning at Barton.
