N.C. State’s Tremanisha Taylor became the first athlete in program history to earn All-America honors March 15 at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M.

Taylor, a redshirt junior and 2010 Southern Vance graduate, received second-team honors after finishing 12th in the women’s shot put. Her throw of 52 feet, 11 inches was the highest among ACC competitors.

Taylor also finished as a second-team All-American last spring in the national outdoor championships.

Taylor is off to a good start in outdoor competition this season having tied her school record (175 feet, 1 inch) in women’s discus last Friday at the Carolina Relays in Chapel Hill.

N.C. State hosts the Raleigh Relays this weekend.
