Warrior boys drop first game of season

The J.F. Webb boys basketball team lost its first game of the season Friday night at the Chick-fil-A Classic in Columbia, S.C. The Warriors (9-1) fell 62-54 to Shiloh High School of Snellville, Ga.

Isaiah Hicks had 15 points for Webb, shooting 4-of-14 from the field. He had 23 rebounds and nine blocks.

Shiloh, a 5-A Georgia team, features a couple of highly regarded Class of 2014 prospects in Nate Mason Jr. and Trayvon Reed. Mason, a point guard, led Shiloh with 20 points. Reed, a 7-foot-1 center drawing interest from several SEC and ACC schools, had eight points and 10 rebounds.

Mitron Terry led the Warriors with 18 points.

Webb returns to action Wednesday against Clinton in the HighSchoolOT Holiday Hoops Invitational at Broughton High School in Raleigh.
