Duke, UNC, State open NCAAs Friday
Duke, North Carolina and N.C. State will each open the NCAA tournament Friday.
Duke was given the second seed in the Midwest bracket and faces No. 15 Albany in Philadelphia.
North Carolina and N.C. State each earned eight seeds. The Tar Heels will battle Villanova in Kansas City, Mo. with a potential matchup against Roy Williams' former Kansas Jayhawks waiting in the next round.
The Wolfpack are matched up with Temple in Dayton, Ohio with top-seeded Indiana likely awaiting.
N.C. A&T will battle for a 16-seed Tuesday in Dayton against Liberty in the opening round. The winner gets top seed in the Midewest Louisville, also the No. 1 overall seed in the field.
Davidson rounds out the in-state schools selected to the Big Dance. The 14th-seeded Wildcats have No. 3 Marquette Thursday in East region play.
