Derrian Markham scored 25 points, R.J. Hunt had 19 and Kerr-Vance improve to 7-3 overall Friday with a 55-46 win over Halifax Academy.

The win pushed the Spartans’ Eastern Plains Independent Conference record to 2-2.

Joseph Burnette added 10 points for KVA, which has only one senior.

“We don’t play just to win, just for a record,” KVA head coach Dave Carrier said of the seven wins. “But it’s a testament to these kids after losing 10 seniors to come out with a record like that.”

KVA is at home in its holiday tournament next week.
