Prep Roundup: Lady Colts edge Victory, 29-26

Crossroads Christian defeated Victory Christian 29-26 Tuesday in varsity girls basketball action.

Caroline May led the Colts with 18 points, Michaela Nicholas had eight points and Molly Harty added three points.

Allison Stell led Victory with 12 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. Also scoring for the Eagles were Hannah White (four points), Tayler Thompson (three points), Kayla Alston (two points), Haven Stevenson (two points), Kimberly Spence (two points).

Crossroads hosts Community Christian Friday at 5 p.m. while Victory hosts Centerville Christian of Virginia at 6 p.m.

Spartans pick up league win over Parrott

Kerr-Vance rallied from a first-half deficit Tuesday to defeat Parrott Academy 64-56.

Derrian Markham led the Spartans with 25 points, R.J. Hunt had 24 and Wil Short finished with nine.

KVA (5-3, 1-1 Eastern Plains Independent Conference) trailed by 11 in the second quarter and cut it to three by halftime.

The Spartans visit Ridgecroft Thursday and host Halifax Academy Friday.

Crossroads boys defeat Victory

Crossroads Christian defeated Victory Christian 73-35 Tuesday in boys basketball action.

Holden Hedgepeth led the Colts with 26 points and Zack Norris finished with 23 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks.

Victory was led by Christian Bowes’ 23 points. Wesley Whitley had eight points and Austin Abbott tallied seven.

The Colts host Community Christian today while the Eagles welcome Centerville Christian of Virginia.
