Weather leaves hoops schedule in flux

The latest blast of winter weather is impacting area basketball schedules.

In the 2-A Northern Carolina Conference, Southern Vance and Warren County each will each try to make up games from Tuesday on Thursday if all involved county schools are open.

Southern is slated to visit South Granville Thursday with the varsity girls and boys games scheduled for 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively. Those games will be made up Feb. 13 if schools are out Thursday.

Warren County is scheduled to visit N.C. School of Science and Math Thursday with the varsity girls tipping at 4 p.m. and the boys to follow. No decision has been made on a potential makeup date with NCSSM already scheduled for multiple games next week.

Northern Vance and J.F. Webb each are scheduled to make up 3-A Big Eight Conference games from Tuesday on Saturday.

Northern visits Orange on Saturday with the varsity girls tipping off at 4:30 p.m. and the boys to follow at 6 p.m.

Webb’s varsity boys play at Chapel Hill Saturday at 5 p.m. while the Warriors varsity girls host Chapel Hill Saturday at 5 p.m.

In the independent ranks, the Crossroads Christian varsity basketball games that were scheduled for Tuesday have been moved to Monday at 5 and 6:30 p.m.
