The 2-A Northern Carolina Conference basketball tournaments have been cancelled due to the scheduling logjam created by three bouts of winter weather.

Warren County’s home games with Bunn, scheduled for Wednesday, have been rescheduled for Tuesday.

The Eagles still have four games left on the schedule including Senior Night, scheduled for Friday against Roanoke Rapids. Wanda Thompson, the athletics director at Warren County, said there is a chance that game could be moved to this Saturday if the teams aren’t able to play Friday.

Warren County is also scheduled to play N.C. School of Science and Math next Thursday and Southern Vance next Friday.

Southern has three games left on its schedule. Wednesday’s game at South Granville has been moved to next week. The Raiders also host Bunn this Saturday and Warren County next Friday for Senior Night.

The N.C. High School Athletic Association announced Wednesday that schools may play four games next week, but Saturday, Feb. 22 is not an option. That day will be used for state playoff seeding.

The NCHSAA also announced that the wrestling regionals, scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, can be finished on Sunday afternoon as a last resort.
