Taylor books ticket to New Mexico
Tremanisha Taylor will represent N.C. State in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships next weekend in Albuquerque, N.M.
The 2010 Southern Vance graduate qualified for the national championships by finishing in the NCAA’s top 16.
Taylor, a redshirt junior, holds the indoor school-record in the shot put and enters the event ranked 15th nationally with a best throw of 54-feet, 4.5 inches.
Taylor recently took home the bronze medal in the shot put at the ACC Indoor Championship in Clemson, S.C. That gave Taylor her second all-ACC indoor honor, making her a four-time all-ACC performer including outdoor performances.
The Wolfpack finished ninth as a team in the ACC competition.
State’s Nicole Chavis will join Taylor in New Mexico having qualified in the weight throw.
The two-day national indoor championships kick off on March 14.
