Babe Ruth baseball all-stars fall in Pembroke

The Henderson/Vance 13-year-old Babe Ruth baseball all-stars fell to Border Belt of Lumberton, 13-3, Thursday in their opening game of the Eastern N.C. State Tournament in Pembroke. 

Border Belt walked nine batters, but Henderson/Vance left eight of those runners on base.

Davonte Bumpers. Tyler Patrick, Trequan Alston, and Ja’Mel Robinson each had hits for Henderson/Vance. Robinson knocked Alston in on a triple for one of the runs. 

Henderson/Vance is back in action Friday at 4 p.m. against either Greenville or Outer Banks in the double-elimination tourney.

Nash County, Greene County Farmville, New Bern, and Lumber River make up the rest of the field.
