Crossroads Christian has qualified for the N.C. Independent School Athletic Association 1-A state golf tournament in the program’s second season.

The Colts were the seventh-rated team in the 1-A classification. Only the top-eight teams are selected in each classification.

Crossroads recently finished second in the Carolina Christian Conference Tournament.

The top-nine individuals on teams that didn’t make the field are selected to the state tournament. Crossroads’ D.J. Matthews would have made the cut had the Colts not earned a team berth.

Kerr-Vance’s Brandon Dickerson and Daniel Burnette made the individual cut in the 2-A field. KVA didn’t qualify as one of the top-eight teams in the competitive classification that was topped by the Spartans’ conference mate, St. David’s.

Both the 1-A and 2-A tournaments will be held Monday and Tuesday in Pinehurst. The 1-A tourney will be at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club and the 2-A tourney at Tallamore Golf Club.
