Local Roundup: Spartan boys win at Cary Christian

Kerr-Vance picked up a 66-38 win at Cary Christian in varsity boys action Tuesday.

Spartan coach Dave Carrier said it was one of KVA’s better performances of the season.

“We really shared the ball well,” said Carrier. “We played like a team.”

Brandon Dickerson led KVA with 19 points and R.J. Hunt had 18. Derrius Perry finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Spartans (13-3, 7-1 Eastern Plains Independent Conference) visited Grace Christian of Raleigh Thursday.

KVA girls defeated by Knights

The Kerr-Vance varsity girls basketball team was defeated at Cary Christian Tuesday, 40-20.

“Not sure why, but we just didn’t play with a lot of fight tonight,” said KVA coach Brian Russell.

The Spartans trailed 21-8 at halftime and were led in scoring by Rachel Ross with 11 points. Rebecca Ross had five.

KVA was back in action Thursday at Grace Christian of Raleigh.

Spartan middle school girls win over Ravenscroft

The Kerr-Vance middle school girls basketball team won 38-11 at Ravenscroft Wednesday.

The Spartans improved to 7-5 on the season and were led in scoring by Kennedy Adcock’s 18 and Holly Steg’s 10.
