Crossroads Christian never recovered from a 10-0 first-quarter deficit as Kerr-Vance claimed a 48-35 win Friday at Crossroads.

Rebecca Ross led KVA (2-0) with 15 points and was 7-of-10 at the free throw line. She was joined in double figures by Price Wester with 13 points.

“It was a good win for us,” said KVA head coach Brian Russell. “But we have a lot to improve on.”

KVA led 18-11 at halftime and Crossroads (0-3) was within five points in the fourth quarter.

Michaela Nicholas led the Colts with 12 points and Ashton Hayes had nine points.

“We’re still taking steps,” said Crossroads head coach Dana LaBerge. “We have to buckle down our defense. We’re getting shots, just not hitting them. But we’re getting there.”

The Colts have a 39-31 loss to East Wake Academy and a 34-29 defeat to Carolina Christian Conference opponent Cresset Christian.

Crossroads visits Raleigh’s Friendship Christian Tuesday in a non-conference game and KVA visits Rocky Mount Academy Wednesday in Eastern Plains Independent Conference play.
