Warren County tops Louisburg on Day 3 in Creedmoor

Warren County closed out its stay in the South Granville Holiday Invitational with a 68-58 win over Louisburg in the Bojangles Bracket seventh-place game.

The Eagles (8-2) started the tourney Thursday with a 65-43 loss to Cary Green Hope of the 4-A Tri-Nine Conference before a 70-58 loss Friday to Raleigh Sanderson, a member of the 4-A Cap 8 Conference.

Daniel Hunter led Warren County against Louisburg with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Andrew Alston had 12 points and eight rebounds and Charlie Williams finished with 11.

It was the Eagles’ second win of the season over the Warriors, a 2-A Northern Carolina Conference rival.

Williams led Warren County against Sanderson with 24 points, Tyler Thompson had 12 and Hunter talllied nine.

Hunter and Williams both had nine points Thursday and Alston contributed seven.

The Eagles return to the court Wednesday at Bunn.
