Vance-Granville’s three-match week ends Saturday at home against Mid-Atlantic Christian University. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Aycock Recreation Center.

The Vanguards were on the road Tuesday at Central Carolina Community College and visit Rockingham Community College Thursday.

Vance-Granville started its season with consecutive three-set losses to Davidson County Community College and Rockingham Community College before being swept twice in a doubleheader with Wytheville, Va. Community College.

Granville central product Nicole Oakley and Bunn’s Brianna Gatson have stood out for the Vanguards, leading the team in digs.
Oxford’s Erin Smith recorded five digs, four assists and three kills against Rockingham.

Smith is one of two area players on Vance-Granville’s roster. The other is former Victory Christian Eagle Kayla Padgett.
