A week after tying her women’s school record, N.C. State redshirt junior Tremanisha Taylor surpassed her best discus mark last Friday at the Raleigh Relays with a throw of 179 feet.

Taylor, a 2010 Southern Vance graduate, tied her previous best throw of 175 feet, 1 inch the week prior at the Carolina Relays.

Taylor is a two-time All-American and also currently holds the N.C. State record in the indoor and outdoor shot put.

Taylor became the first athlete in program history to earn All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships March 15 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Next up for N.C. State is the Tiger Track Classic at Auburn this weekend.

The ACC Outdoor Championships are scheduled for April 17-18 in Chapel Hill.
