Bolton gets first win at ECU
Tyler Bolton, a 2011 Kerr-Vance graduate, notched his first career win Wednesday as East Carolina rolled over N.C. Central 12-5 in Greenville.
Bolton (1-2) got the start and threw three innings on a predetermined pitch count, allowing one earned run on five hits. The junior right-hander struck out two and was one of seven Pirates to see time on the mound.
ECU (14-11) pounded 20 hits in its only meeting of the regular season against the Eagles (9-14-1).
Bolton worked his way into the Pirates’ rotation following a strong showing with the Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League, a wood-bat collegiate summer league.
ECU hosts Maryland-Baltimore County this weekend before visiting N.C. State on Wednesday.
