Tri-County hoops, Friday, Dec. 14

Mid-Atlantic Christian at Vance-Granville: The Vanguards will play at Aycock for the first time this season, facing a familiar opponent. Mid-Atlantic Christian defeated VGCC earlier this season after battling back from eight down in the final two minutes of the game.

Warren County at Southern Vance: The Raider girls took Round 1 while the Warren County boys were victorious in the first meeting in Warrenton. The Lady Raiders, who lost their first game on Wednesday, will be the favorite again while the boys game could be tight, as it was last time around.

Calvary Baptist at Kerr-Vance: The Spartans will try to go 10-0 on the season, facing the No. 4 team in 2-A. Calvary features Tyler Rose, a 6-foot-6 wingman and a likely next-level player. The KVA girls have been hot as of late and look to improve to 8-2 overall.

J.F. Webb at Person: Revenge will be on the Rockets' minds as Webb makes the short trip to Roxboro to face its regional rival. Isaiah Hicks vs Tyrone Outlaw Part II. Hicks and Webb got the better of the matchup last week, winning easily. How will the Warriors fare in what's sure to be a hostile environment?

Northern Vance at Southeast Halifax: Both the Viking boys and girls have struggled recently. A non-conference road win as the holiday tournament season approaches could prove valuable for Northern's talented, but inexperienced boys.

Crossroads Christian at Community Christian: The Crossroads boys are coming off of an overtime loss to Lighthouse Christian while the Lady Colts were victorious. Community Christian is the defending boys champion in the 1-A Carolina Christian Conference.
