Letter: Prayer activities scheduled Thursday
To the editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend the 62nd National Day of Prayer to be held on Thursday, May 2. The Ministers in Community Partnership have six events planned to observe the National Day of Prayer.
At noon, we will have prayer events at Henderson City Hall, Vance County Court House Plaza and Maria Parham Medical Center. From noon to 12:30, there is an event at Area Christians Together in Service. An event at Kittrell Job Corps will be from 11:30 to noon.
A prayer rally will be held at 7 p.m. at the Southern Vance High School stadium. I would like to encourage every pastor and church family to attend and help us fill the stadium with local citizens who still believe in the value and worth of prayer.
This year’s theme is “In His Name the Nations Will Put Their Hope...Matthew 12:21.”
This is a critical time to be in prayer for our country. The biblical principles upon which America was founded are under attack in every segment of society. We want to encourage everyone to come out and unite with us in prayer for our community, our country and our leaders.
