Letter: Help from above

To the editor:

I retired from the U.S. Navy in May l970. I was divorced two years later. My wife left and I had two children to take care of. I was slow to recover but after a few months things improved.

I was a partner in a small business. A short time later I had a job offer that I accepted. Then another part time job was accepted. So I had two jobs plus a partnership.

For a few years I did very well, then age arrived and I retired.

I was proud of myself but then there was more.

After President Obama arrived he said, “You did not do that, someone did it for you.” I thought about that. I had worked hard and I prayed a lot. Any human that helped me realized I worked hard and had done a good job, or it had benefited them also to help me. My prayers were answered even though as I looked back, some of them may have been somewhat petty.

God answered all my prayers. He did not think they were petty.

Thanks to Obama, I realized I had help from my God (Jesus) but I want to point out that my God is not the Jihadist God.
