Letter: Kind of folks needed
To the editor:
I have known Michael Waters since he was a young man working as a lifeguard at the YMCA on Ruin Creek Road. Whether in the early morning at 6 a.m. or sometimes in the early evenings around 5:30 p.m., Michael was on duty at the YMCA pool, faithfully looking after the young and old as they played and exercised, always friendly with a smile and kind words. He cared about those he watched over.
I knew then that he would be successful and that he had the sort of personality — caring, smart, a sharp mind, energetic and dependable — that would help him in every endeavor.
Michael is now running for the office of district attorney in this area. He’s a young man with those same attributes and a local law practice that is thriving. He’s married to a local veterinarian and together they have made Henderson their home. We need folks like Michael Waters and families like his to live in Vance County, and I believe he will do his best to make it a safer place to live.
I believe he has the intelligence to organize the office and the energy and ability to lead the staff. And I believe he will focus on making our area better. He will be fair and honest, and he will work hard to help all of us. These are attributes that will enable him to do an excellent job.
Join with me in voting for Mike Waters for district attorney. It will improve our court system and our communities.
