Letter: Good people, great success
To the editor:
I would like to congratulate the Henderson Rec Players on their successful production of “Oliver!”.
Few communities the size of Henderson have a theater group as good as the Henderson Rec Players. Everyone, beginning with revered directors Dwight Pearce and JoEllen Nowell, music director Mark Hopper, choreographer Sharon Hopper, technical director Matt Nowell and master electrician Tommy Nowell combined their efforts and artistic abilities to make “Oliver!” a very entertaining production. Accolades go out to them, the musicians and all the actors.
One very important contribution was the support and newspaper coverage provided by The Daily Dispatch. I appreciated seeing those pictures on the front page promoting the positive efforts of the members of our community. Those pictures were a delightful addition to the success of the production. Wonderful coverage Dispatch!
Last but far from least were the contributions made by citizens and businesses of the community who came to the rescue of the Rec Players when the need was great, making it possible for the Rec Players to privately contract “Oliver!”. To those contributors we owe much. Through the collective efforts of those good people success came to Henderson in the guise of “Oliver!”.
