Letter: Breaking and entering warning

Mar. 01, 2014 @ 10:56 PM

To the editor:

On two different Sundays, someone has waited for my mother to leave for church before kicking in her door. The first robbery amounted to taking a few dollars worth of pills left over from a recent surgery, but the damage to the home was much more expensive. The second Sunday break-in came through the front door. That time, more pills were taken and a gun.

I hope the seniors in the county will change their routines from time to time. Someone is obviously watching as the car leaves for church. Nothing is sacred in today’s world. Who would think that anyone would be so stupid as to kick in a front door in broad daylight?

Well, a man smarter than me once said, “You can’t fix stupid but you can give it a headache.” To the thief, please knock gently before entering. Next Sunday the car may go to church. My mom may go as well. Like you, I plan on skipping Sunday school. Maybe we can finally meet. I’ll be waiting.
