David C. Wemyss
WARRENTON — David “Spiderman” Craig Wemyss, 56, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at his home.
He was the son of Gladys Harris Wemyss and Willis Macon Wemyss.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Craig was a member of Macon Baptist Church. He graduated from East Carolina University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He was the manager of Accounts Payable and Purchasing Information Systems for Glen Raven Norlina Plant.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, by Rev. Rob Evans and Rev. Debra Phelps at Macon Baptist Church.
Mr. Wemyss is survived by his mother, Gladys Harris Wemyss; sister, Jill Harris Wemyss Coleman (Victor) of Creek; brother, Todd Wemyss (Claudia) of Warrenton; four nieces and nephews, Morgan Leigh Coleman, Levi Coleman, Jacob Wemyss and Anna Macon Wemyss; and his aunt, Mildred Wemyss Paschall of Wilmington.
The pallbearers will be Hill Yancey, Davis Harris, Dee Harris, John Foster Robertson, Jeff Andrews and Allen Hawks.
The family received friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the residence of Todd and Claudia Wemyss.

Joseph W. Vick Jr.
HENDERSON — Joseph Wayne “Joe” Vick Jr., 47, of 304 Rose Petal Run, Wake Forest, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Born in Vance County, he was the son of Joseph Wayne Vick Sr. and Marilyn Bryson Vick of Henderson.
Mr. Vick was a supervisor at Novozymes. He was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Kimberly Turner Vick; a daughter, Courtney Vick of the home; a son, Phillip Vick of the home; and two sisters, Kathy V. Johnson of Wilmington and Sherri Vick of Henderson.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Flowers Funeral Home. At all other times they will be at the home, 304 Rose Petal Run, Wake Forest.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Kenny Pullin, Marc Hargrove, Scott Capell, Tim Darnell, Marty Pulley, Dwayne Turner, Jackson Messer and Charles Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Novo Fermentation Department.

Betty W. West
HENDERSON — Betty Wilson West, 65, of 17 Travis Lane, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center.
Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Horace Wilson and Florence Arrington Wilson. She was the widow of Joseph Earl West.
Mrs. West was a retired employee of Lennox China, Inc. She attended Blessed Hope Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Blessed Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Donald A. Perkinson. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Lassiter and husband Greg of Henderson; two sons, Bobby Gray West and wife Stacy of Kittrell and Joseph Wilson “Joey” West and fiancee Amanda Kinnard of Henderson; a sister, Rose “Rita” Tanner of Henderson; six grandchildren, Jessica Elliott, Dustin Bolton, Amber West, Makala West, Ryan West and Joseph West Jr.; a great-grandson, Aiden Elliott; her special companion, David Griffin; and her best friends, Alice Newton, Becky Perkinson, and Bruce and Virginia Epps.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Travis and Hazel Parrish; and a grandson, Brandon Bolton.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Flowers Funeral Home. At all other times they will be at the home of Bobby and Stacy West, 214 South Chaucer Way, Kittrell.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jamie Elliott, Lawrence Harris, Jay Ayscue Jr., Dale Griffin, Chuck Parrish, Todd Parrish, Shawn Pegram and Wade West Jr.

HENDERSON — Linda Terry Jones, 50, of 822 West Young Ave., died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013.
There will be no public services.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at 7939 N.C. 39 North.
