Annie C. Currin

OXFORD — Annie Ruth Clark Currin, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Granville Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Norman and Doris Clark.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Graham B. Currin Jr., and a brother, Laddie Clark.

Annie worked at Granville Hospital as an LPN and retired from John Umstead Hospital in Butner. She was a member of Amis Chapel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Amis Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Terry Howard. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan C. Keller of Greenville and JoAnne C. Graney (John) of Oxford; three sons, R. Michael Currin (Sandra) and Charles E. Currin (Gwyn), both of Oxford, and David N. Currin (Tommie) of Hillsborough; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the services in the fellowship hall of the church. At other times they will be at the home of Mike and Sandra Currin.

Elaine B. Falkner

WARRENTON — Elaine Brame Falkner, 76, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Warren Hills Nursing Center.

She was a Mecklenburg County, Va., native born to the late Gillis Otis and Lilly Clark Brame.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert D. Rivers Sr., and her brothers, Lee and Richard Brame.

Mrs. Falkner was a longtime member of Warren Plains Baptist Church, was employed by Carolina Sportswear and was a foster parent for 37 children over the years.

Rev. Matt Love will conduct funeral services at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Blaylock Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Warren Plains Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by her husband, William Falkner; her children, Robert D. “Bobby” Rivers Jr. of Warrenton, Rita Dawkins of Mooresville, Mo., and Tammy M. Seaman of Norlina; her sister, Joyce Carroll of Warrenton; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Adcock, Rachel Bice, John Fleming, Jennifer Fleming, Greg Mulchi, Elben Mulchi and Cindy Hinkle; two great-grandchildren, Robin Moore and Ruby Miller; and her four step-grandchildren, Yvonne, Stephen, Thomas and Christopher Seaman.

Flowers are acceptable and the family asks that any memorials be made to the Warren County Foster Care Program, c/o Ruby Elam at the Warren County Department of Social Services, 307 N. Main St., Warrenton, NC 27589.

The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Betty R. Griffin

HENDERSON — Betty Rachel Griffin, 82, of 2275 Ruin Creek Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, in Warren Hills Nursing Home in Warrenton.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today, Feb. 4, in the chapel of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Rayford W. Griffin

HENDERSON — Rayford Wilson Griffin, 65, of 1245 Park Ave., died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, in a local nursing home.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today, Feb. 4, in the chapel of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Barry L. Wilson

OXFORD — Barry Lynn Wilson, 50, of the Grassy Creek community, died Feb. 2, 2014, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 4, at Tungsten Mine Baptist Church by Rev. Sam Brewer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or to a charity of one’s choice.
