Bonnie E. Buhrmester
HENDERSON — Bonnie Rose Edwards Buhrmester, age 68, a resident of 209 Twelve Oaks Lane, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center.
Born in Vance County on April 28, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Louis Edwards and Ada Hoyle Edwards.
Mrs. Buhrmester was a homemaker and a former member of Gillburg United Methodist Church. In 1964 she married William Robert Buhrmester and went with him to Fontainbleau, France, and in 1968 to Karlsruhe, Germany, and Camp Zama, Japan, in 1973. They later returned to the United States and lived in the Washington, D.C., area before retiring to Vance County.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Calvin Dickenson. Burial will follow in the Hoyle Family Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, William Robert Buhrmester of the home; two daughters, Bonnie Buhrmester-Papa and husband Anthony and Alta Rose Buhrmester-Harper and husband Bryon, both of Henderson; and three sisters, Thelma Augusta Newman and Sandra Gerldine Effinger and husband Louis, both of Henderson, and Barbara Jane Jarrell of Waynsville.
The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at J.M. White Funeral Home.

Stephen T. Workman
HENDERSON — Stephen Terry Workman, 66, of 73 Four Oaks Lane, Henderson, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at his home.
Born in Muscatine County, Iowa, he was the son of the late William Rodney “Bill” and Wanda Miller Workman.
Mr. Workman was a retired maintenance supervisor with Bandag Inc. He was an avid outdoorsman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Flowers Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Don Wilson.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Pritchard Workman; a daughter, Carrie W. Raymond and husband Dan of Amarillo, Texas; a son, Lance S. Workman and wife Gail of Oxford; two step-sons, Matt Wiggins of Henderson and Thomas Wiggins and wife Bettie of Creedmoor; two brothers, Don Workman and wife Janice of Illinois City, Ill., and Bill Workman and wife Linda of Jeffersonville, Ind.; and five grandchildren, Daniel Workman, Zachary Workman, Amber Workman, Lucianna Raymond and Elijah Raymond.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times they will be at the home, 73 Four Oaks Lane, Henderson, and at the home of Lance and Gail Workman, 2100 Grassy Creek–Virgilina Road, Oxford.

Ruth V. Dunston
HENDERSON — Ruth Virginia Roberson Dunston, 74, of 703 State St., died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Big Ruin Creek Missionary Baptist Church by Pastor Charles Burwell. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be Friday, April 18, from noon to 6 p.m. at Davis-Royster Funeral Service and at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the residence.

HENDERSON — Nell Rose Williams Foster, 78, of 250 Big Ruin Creek Lane, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center.

NEW YORK — Shirley Marie Haywood Kirton, 56, formerly of Vance County, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Montifia Hospital in Bronx, N.Y.
A funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 18, at Camelot Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, N.Y.
